Reginald Smith Obituary

Reginald "Reggie" Gooding Smith Hampton, SC - Mr. Reginald "Reggi" Gooding Smith, of Lightsey Street Extension in Hampton, died Thursday evening at his residence after an extended illness. Mr. Smith was born September 6, 1938, in Savannah, a son of the late Albert Vernon Smith and Gertrude Gooding Smith. He had retired from Georgia Pacific as a Lead Operator and was also a Saw Sharpener. He had retired from the National Guard, was a member of the Stafford Masonic Lodge and the Varnville First Baptist Church. Surviving are: daughter, Jo Ann Rushing and husband Matt of Summerville; and two grandchildren, Mikaela and Alex Rushing; also a special friend and caregiver, Elaine Hadwin. Funeral services will be 3 P.M. Sunday in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home with burial in the Hampton Cemetery with Masonic Rites.
