Regina Harriott Obituary

Regina "Genie" Harriott Mt. Pleasant - Regina "Genie" Harriott (ne;e Devine), age 80, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on September 10, 2020. Regina cherished her husband, John ("Ed"). of 57 years. They raised their family in New Rochelle, NY, where they were active members of Holy Family parish. Regina and John retired to Mount Pleasant, SC, where they were members of St. Benedict parish. Regina graduated from St. Gabriel's High School in 1958 and from Hunter College in 1962, where she majored in Elementary Education and received a permanent teaching certificate in the state of New York. She received a Masters from Iona College in Elementary Education, specializing in Science. Regina was an elementary school teacher for over 15 years in Yonkers, NY. Regina loved being with her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed baking, gardening, golfing, traveling, and canasta, and was a member of the Garden Club of Snee Farm, Women's Club, and past president of East Cooper Newcomers Club. She volunteered with East Cooper Community Outreach, and through St. Benedict parish, she volunteered with the East Cooper Faith Network's literacy and mentorship program, I-Beam. Beloved wife to John; devoted mother to Sharon Jureller and her husband, Steven, Monica Malo and her husband, Jeff, Thomas Harriott and his wife, Betsy, and Adrienne Sheffield. Loving grandmother to Caroline, Zachary, Emily, Christopher, Charlie, Dougie, and Tommy. Sister to Patricia Landy and her husband, Al, Ronnie Brunnock and her husband, Pat, and John Devine and his wife, Judy. Beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at a later date, to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the East Cooper Faith Network or East Cooper Community Outreach.
