Rebecca Lomano Obituary
LOMANO, Rebecca STATESVILLE, NC Rebecca Becky Lynn Lomano, 44, passed away October 14, 2008 at the Gordon House Hospice facility in Statesville, NC. The relatives and friends of Becky Lomano are invited to attend her funeral service in the First Associate Reformed Protestant Church of 123 E Broad St. in Statesville, NC on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at 11:00 am. A memorial service will also be held at a later date to be determined in Charleston, SC. Rebecca Becky Lynn Lomano was born July 11, 1964 in Columbus, OH. She is survived by her mother, Sharon Lomano of Statesville, NC; father, Jack Lomano and his wife Grace of Palm Bay, FL; brother, Steve Lomano and his wife Michelle of Charleston, SC; brother, Scott Lomano and his wife Valerie of Fanning Springs, FL; brother Paul Lomano and his wife Lisa of Seattle, WA; niece, Asjia Lomano of Hampton, VA; nephew, Tristan Lomano and niece, Cecilia Lomano of Charleston, SC; and nephew, Shane Lomano of Fanning Springs, FL. A woman who deeply loved animals of all descriptions, Becky worked for several veterinary clinics and volunteered extensively for non-profits devoted to the welfare of homeless animals. A particular cause close to her heart was the rescue, often conducted personally, of abandoned animals on busy highways and her search and placement for their adoption into loving homes. For the last 1 ½ years, Becky valiantly fought pancreatic cancer with grace and dignity. Her courage was an inspiration to all of her family, friends, and caregivers. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her including her beloved pets. On behalf of all at Pet Helpers, please accept our deepest sympathy in the too soon loss of your Becky. While we need more angels like Becky who love and care about animals here on this earth, I guess God felt He needed Becky more.
