Having lost my wife to breast cancer while she was just in her 30's, this definitely impacts me in a personal way. I was close to this family having grown up next door to them in Spanish Point. We grew up together, played together and went to school together. I loved the kids and their parents and am so sad for your loss. I feel it too. Thoughts and prayers to you all, Troy Fickling

I was so saddened to hear of Rebecca's passing yesterday. She was such a breadth of fresh air to meet in the mornings at the Tulane bike rack or in the Tulane Bookstore! We always enjoyed a quick chat about her much loved Charleston, Firefly (!!), her incredible nephews, our love of dogs, or the trials and tribulations of life! Nancy and family(ies), my thoughts and prayers are with you all. Rebecca, you will be missed. Love, Lisa O'Dwyer, Tulane University, A.B. Freeman School of Business

Rebecca, when you entered our family you made it better-we will never be without your presence. I loved how you were always up for a deep personal conversation or a fabulous joke. I'll always treasure the times we were able to share. I'll drink some GrandMa in your honor when I'm in Chas this summer.Travel on sweet astronaut angel.I will do my best to carry this grief in a way that would make you smile. LOVE always, Nell

Rebecca, Cooter, old friend ... what times we had together. I remember one glorious summer when you were between jobs and I was working at night, it seemed like we played golf every day and made mischief when we weren't. For years, I have had a framed photo in my living room of us talking together at a Goldbug Island oyster roast. At least I'll always have that to make me smile. To Nancy and her family, please know that we share in your sorrow and grief that her time was too soon.

Cooter, my olde Chas'n. friend! We always managed to find a party, or found joy in planning one. (On the links, the beach, Melly's Whaler, Caroline's, or Carolina's) We always had a good story to tell. I'll see you on the other side, darlin'!
