Reba Elizabeth Campbell Vannoy Charleston - Reba Elizabeth Campbell Vannoy, 100, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Lt. CMDR Cecil Clifton Vannoy, USN (Ret.), entered into eternal rest Friday, October 19, 2018. Her Funeral Service will be held Monday, October 22, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 2:00 p.m.The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Reba was born May 5, 1918 in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, daughter of the late George Matthew Campbell and Nora Green Campbell. She was a homemaker, a past president of the Council of Garden Clubs of Greater Charleston, an accomplished cook and seamstress. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, ceramics, crocheting, needle point and knitting. She and her husband supported the USO and the Charleston Elks Lodge 242, where they made many life long friends, and she was very proud to serve as first lady. She was instrumental in forming the Mother's Club at St. Andrew's High School ensuring that students had adequate funds for the senior trip. She enjoyed playing bridge, and especially in later life playing poker with her dear friends. She was a member of The Church of the Good Shepard. The family would like to extended their thanks to the staff at NHC Healthcare for their kindness and care where they nicknamed her "Miss Sassy". She is survived by her daughter, Brenda V. Williams (Tom) of Charleston, SC; son, Kenneth Cecil Vannoy of Saraland, AL; five grandchildren, Kenneth Wayne Vannoy of Fairhope, AL, Matthew Frank Vannoy (Pamela) of Seadrift, TX, Jason Lee Vannoy (Katie) of Fairhope, AL, Amanda Vannoy Newman of Saraland, AL, Jessica Hocks of Coco Beach, FL; twelve great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Church of the Good Shepherd, 1393 Miles Drive, Charleston, SC, 29407.
