Raymond Walsh SUMMERVILLE - Raymond "Tinker" Ellsworth Walsh, husband of Cynthia Brooks Walsh, passed away peacefully on Monday May 20, 2024 at his home in Summerville, SC. Tinker was born in Charleston, SC on April 20, 1946 to Richard E. and Virginia G. Walsh. He was a graduate of Summerville High School. Tinker spent 20 years in the USAF Reserve with the 31st AES, CAFB. A carpenter by trade, he worked in his family construction business until beginning his career with Dorchester County School District 2 where he was the Maintenance Department Director for 28 years. Tinker was a member of Masonic Lodge 234 and was inducted into the Summerville High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2020. Tinker is survived by his wife, Cindy, daughter, Courtney Mutispaugh, son, Ray Walsh, Jr. (Sherry), son-in-law, Jim Mutispaugh, grandchildren, Meredith Williamson, Jackson Mutispaugh, Katelyn Walsh, Brady Walsh, brothers, John Walsh and Paul Walsh, sister Sue Nance, half brother Dwight Walsh, many cousins, nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by his parents, brother, William "Billy" Walsh, brother, Steve Walsh, and half-brother, Richard Walsh. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday May 29, 2024 at 11:00 am at Summerville Baptist Church, 417 Central Avenue, Summerville, SC 29483. Family will receive visitors on Tuesday May 28, 2024 from 5-7 pm at Summerville Baptist Church. Arrangements by Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services, Ladson SC. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Summerville Baptist Church or Shriner's Children's Hospital.
