I found out about Mr. Smiths passing through another retired customs officer. I interacted with him when he worked at customs and just remember him being so helpful and patient. Certainly a mentor/ teacher to so many in the Waterfront community. Love and blessings to your family.

"City" and I met at the College of Charleston in the mid-50s. He was truly a believer in Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord. His active involvement in our Baptist Student Union meant much to many students. To be greeted by "City" was always to be warmed by his smile and handshake. He served his Savior and God to the very end of his life!

How blessed we are that the Lord happened to arrange for Charlene & Ray Smith to be in Bulgaria at the same as time us Texans. Seems that our pathways kept on intersecting for many years. This is because we all were blessed to serve the Lord in our retirement. There will be rejoicing in Heaven as Ray meets up with countless folks from numerous nations who loved him as their pastor in faraway Sofia, Bulgaria. His family can rely on the fact that Ray was wonderfully used by the Lord in a very challenging ministry. He just kept on preaching the Word and loving the people.
Our kindest regards to you, sweet Charlene. May you sense His goodness & mercy following you these days of your life.

To my dad, you taught me so much over the years and I could not ask for a better father. I visited with mom yesterday and had coffee with her and I could hear you running to answer the phone with the distinct sound of your slippers on the floor and you saying "I got it". I can hear your voice singing in church. I can hear your laughter. I would watch you in church every single time putting your arm around mom and rubbing her shoulder during service. There are so many more memories that I will always remember. Dad, you are at home with the Lord Jesus Christ. You can breathe freely, no more suffering. I love you with all my heart and soul and we will miss you tremendously. Love you always and forever! Sherri Andrews
