Raymond Shaw Obituary

Raymond Shaw Summerville - Raymond "Ray" Patrick Shaw, 90, of Summerville, SC, died Sunday, June 14, 2016 at his home. Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 3 PM at St. John the Beloved Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in Summerville Cemetery Mausoleum. A visitation will be Monday evening from 6 to 8 at Parks Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Legion Post 21, 105 Sumter Ave., Summerville, SC 29483. Ray was born December 9, 1925 in Kearny, NJ, a son of Patrick A. Shaw and Helen Ellis Shaw. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Angela T. Thees Shaw of Summerville, SC; daughters, Elaine Shaw Crusco of Wayne, NJ, and Dianne Shaw of Rockaway, NJ; son, David Shaw of Summerville, SC; three granddaughters, Carolyn Arturi of Hawthorne, NJ, and Amber and Kayla Shaw of Summerville, SC; seven nieces; and a great-grandson. He was predeced in death by his son, Brian Shaw, also of Summerville, in February 2014. Mr. Shaw attended Kearny High School in NJ and enlisted in the US Navy during WWII, where he became a Gunner's Mate 1st Class. He worked as a plant engineer in the manufacturing of oils, fine chemicals, and pharmaceuticals.
