Raymond Roberts Obituary

Mr. Raymond Walter Roberts, 82, of Pinopolis, SC, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon in a local hospice facility. Born on March 19, 1943, in Charleston, SC, he was the son of Winton Vance Roberts and Bertie Bell Roberts. Mr. Roberts was a dedicated professional, retiring as the Nuclear Director of the Welding Shop at the Charleston Naval Shipyard after 33 years of service. He also shared his love for Charleston history through his work with Gray Line Tours. Mr. Roberts proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam era. He was a life member of St. Andrews Lodge #367 AFM and had a passion for tinkering with antique tractors, attending tractor shows, and working on small engines. He is survived by his beloved wife, Katherine Swords Roberts; his two sons, Michael Gary Roberts of Charleston, and Steven Christopher Roberts and his wife Holly of Pinopolis. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Addisyn Kate Roberts and Jackson Grady Roberts. Raymond was preceded in death by his brothers, Carl E. Bell and Robert L. Roberts. The family will receive friends during a visitation at Dial-Murray Funeral Home, Moncks Corner, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday, August 21, 2025. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Omar Shriners Children's Fund, 176 Patriots Point, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464. To send a flower arrangement in memory of Raymond W.
