I know that my Mother misses your friendship terribly! I'm sure she is thinking of you during this time of the year as well as her own Mother...

This month of September is such a sad time for me. We had high hopes of recovery for you with many plans for things we would do. The last few days of the month were hard watching you finally give up.

This year of being without you has been long and painful but I know that you are at peace now and where you can be with Barry as your last wish.

I miss your love and will always keep you in my heart. I feel your presence often and dream of you every night. I am so thankful to have had you in my life.

I still miss you every day !

It has been almost 10 months since you left me here. I think of you and miss you every day. That will never change. Sometimes I feel your presence and know that you are still with me, loving me and watching over me. I so miss your strong arms around me. You were my joy and I will only know that feeling again when we are together in afterlife. Till then I will hold you in my dreams.

The memories of you, Ray will always linger in my heart and all your dear friends here in Jacksonville..... I am going to miss you dearly.... All the times and secrets we shared while I was cutting your hair... Your goodbye hugs, and all your laughter and love. 57 will never be the same, without your dances... Save a dance for me in Heaven... My love to you, my friend...

My prayers and thoughts are with all of you at this time. I will truly miss Ray so much as I know all of you will. I cut Ray's hair for many years, probably the whole time he lived here in Florida. He was more than just a client to me. He was a very good friend. I loved his personality and love of life. Thank God I visited him at the hospital shortly before....for I just got the news too late..... Sorry for your loss.

Ray was a great Man friend to me and I will always treasure my friendship with him, wonderful memories of great hugs, dances, conversations, cruises and discussing SEC football.

We will miss our friend and neighbor. Eternal rest grant unto Ray, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace.

The loss of Ray is so big for all of us. He was more than my neighbor; he was my best friend. I will miss his phone calls, his helping hand, his strong back, his laughter, our walks, our talks, our dances, our movie days, our mailbox meet-ups, his “Meals On Feet” deliveries, his laughter, and so much more. I will miss him terribly, but I feel blessed to have known him and to have had his friendship and love.

To his family...your father, son, brother was a fun-loving, southern gentleman; and I thank you for sharing him with his Jacksonville family. Blanche, you were his angel; and I am so grateful you were in his life. Thank you for taking such good care of him, and being there till the end.

The beauty of a life well-lived never dies...it continues to embrace us. Ray's life was well-lived! May we all find comfort in our memories of him.

I first met Ray while we were both employed at the GE plant in Ladson where he was a crane operator. We spent many years doing things together like bowling, fishing, dancing, and just working together at the same place. He was a really good bowler who I enjoyed having on my team. We spent many hours on the Santee lakes bass fishing, as he really loved this. After the GE plant closed, we found ourselves working together at the CNSY although we were in different shops. In those years while I was single we palled around together after work. In all that time, I have never heard anyone say anything but how much they liked him. His personality drew everyone in and just made you want to spend time with him. And that goes for both men and women. I had hoped when he retired he would move back to Charleston and bowl with me again, but, I guess he had been in Jax too long to move back. Rest in peace my good friend. You will be missed by me and all the others you have come to know.

A good man! And liked by many. You will be missed.

RIP Ray., always remembered the good times with friends, joking. Laughing and all the dancing. You will be missed! You can give dance lessons in heaven. They will be taught by the BEST.

Ray was a great friend, classmate, and team mate at Berkeley High. He will be missed!!

Ray's friend from across the street - Matt Walker - went to join him at 5:00 this morning. They were known to share lots of stories while visiting in front of the garages. Jennifer and I will have to pick up where they left off I guess. Matt faithfully came to visit Ray at the hospital and at home before he himself became too ill and I am thankful that they had that time together.

"Twinkle Toes" you left us to soon. A mans man who lit up the room & everyone loved. I will miss that great personality & jokes. May the peace of God carry you & your family. Forever RIP

So happy Raymond found peace and happiness in Jacksonville. He has some awesome friends and one awesome lady that he was so happy to find. May he rest in peace. His life was a struggle since birth and especially since Viet Nam but finally the Lord sent him an Angel and she was with him until the end. Bless you Blanche! R.I.P. to a wonderful person, friend, confidant, and a very special soul! It is comforting to know you suffer no more. My love to his son, sister, brother, nieces, nephews and their families! Raymond was a wonderful person! We will certainly miss his smile and him popping in unexpectedly! Rest his soul!

It can be so hard to face the first year without your loved one, but the love of family and friends can carry you through.

What a tremendous loss for our dance community, and all of Ray's family and friends. I will miss his wonderful hugs. My prayers are with his family. He is now dancing with our ever growing number of dancers in Heaven.

My dear Blanche,you were Ray's angel, loving and caring for him to the end, you two shared so many special times together, making beautiful sweet memories. Yes there is music in heaven and Ray will dance in our hearts forever!I will always remember Ray's sense of humor, zest for life, love of dancing and such a joy to know. We couldn't have asked for a better neighbor. I know that Ray & Matt thought they would walk their journies together, if only for a short time. But that was not meant to be. It was Ray's time to leave us, way before anyone was ready for him to. I know that he is saving a place for Matt in heaven and the two of them will save Blanche and I a place. He loved his son dearly and was so very proud of him. We talked about him often over the years. Ray will be missed, but it's only for a short while until we see him again. I was deeply saddened by the death of Ray as he was such a kind person. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His words of wisdom and his wonderful sense of humor touched so many people. Today I mourn the loss of my dearest friend. When God made Ray, He broke the mold...those who knew him have been truely blessed. He always had something nice to say about everyone. Admired by many and loved by all, he will truely be missed. May he finally rest in peace.

Last night a family member passed away. Ray was my Momma's Comp, Pisan and Sweetheart.

Ray was an Awesome Guy, Dad and a Veteran.

Ray was such a fun person to be around. He was always upbeat and engaging, always ready to listen. He was a friend and I will sorely miss him.

To my Momma, I am truly sorry for your loss and I hope Ray has found peace.

We were so greatful for the time that we had together though we learned that it would never be enough. He was weary and tired and ready to let this fight go on without him. We prayed that there will soon be a real cure for AML even knowing that it is too late for him. Love bears hope. I will always miss him and love and respect the wonderful man that I knew him to be. He was kind and good and there will never be a better friend. Goodbye is hard but I know our Lord will enfold him in his loving arms and let him rest in peace.
