Ray Price Obituary

Ray W. Price Goose Creek - Ray W. Price, 77. of Goose Creek, SC, died Wednesday, March 23, 2016. His funeral service will be held Saturday, March 26, 2016 in the Highland Park Baptist Church, 6211 Murray Drive at 11:00 am. His interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL. Ray was born May 31, 1938 in Abbeville, SC, son of the late Vivion Curtis Price Sr. and the late Lola Madden Price. Ray graduated Palmetto Military Academy in 1960. He was a retired Army National Guard Lt. Col., and recipient of the Mark Clark Award for Excellence in 1968. He worked for Bellsouth for 40 years and retired as a network department manager. Ray was a devoted member at Highland Park Baptist Church, serving as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and member of various committees, many of which he chaired. He loved cooking and led the group that served meals for Hanahan Hawks football team for seven years and Church events. Ray was a good husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and most especially a humble and devoted disciple of Jesus Christ. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nancy W. Price of Goose Creek, SC; children: Steve Price (Lynn) of Mount Pleasant, SC, Julie Nelson of Hanahan, SC and Scott Price of North Charleston, SC; two brothers, Jack Price of AL and George Price (Barbara) of Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren: Ashley Price, Steven Price and Morgan Nelson; great-granddaughter, Reagan Ashby. He was preceded in death by a brother, V. Curtis Price Jr. Memorials may be made to Highland Park Baptist Church, 6211 Murray Drive. Hanahan, SC 29410.
