Randy Johnson Obituary

Randy Wayne Johnson Summerville - Randy Wayne Johnson, 73, of Summerville, a husband who was happily and lovingly married to Judith "Judy" Weathers Johnson for 32 years, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. Private Graveside Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, February 7, 2022 in the Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. David Bourhill officiating. Pallbearers will be Randy Wayne Johnson, Jr., John Curtis Johnson, David Johnson, Mike Prosdocimo, David Seth Johnson, Dallas Johnson, III and John Curtis Johnson, Jr. Randy was born on November 26, 1948 in Charleston, a son of the late Dallas Ellis Johnson and Sarah Hazel Mellard Johnson. He was a graduate of Harleyville Ridgeville High School, served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War, was Honorably Discharged with the rank of TSGT, and was a Deacon at Salem Baptist Church, Summerville. He retired from Charleston Naval Shipyard Shop 06 as a toolmaker. One of Randy's favorite hobbies was to read the Bible and witness to others about Jesus. Randy was predeceased by his sister, Sandra Johnson Floyd. Surviving is his wife, Judith "Judy" Weathers Johnson; three sons, Randy Wayne (Betsy) Johnson, Jr., John Curtis (Karen) Johnson, David Ronald (Subie) Johnson; daughter, Kathleen Johnson (Mike) Prosdocimo; step-son, George Linwood Kizer; grandchildren, John Curtis Johnson, Jr., Abigail Grace Johnson, Shayna Salvo, David Seth Johnson, Karissa Prosdocimo and Lainey Prosdocimo; step-grandchildren, Tracy Lin Kizer and Kelly Marie Kizer; brother, Dallas Ellis Johnson; and, sisters, Claudia Selena Doherty and Beverly Jean Sweetman; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. The family would like to thank Agape Hospice for the love and care shown during this time. Memorials may be made to Agape Hospice, 374 Myers Road, Summerville, SC 29486.
