Randy Dicks Obituary

DICKS, Randy Norman Randy McQueen Dicks, a resident of Isle of Palms, SC passed away on the afternoon of April 19, 2008. The relatives and friends of Mr. Norman Randy McQueen Dicks are invited to attend a celebration of Randy's life on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. in J. HENRY STUHR INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. The burial will be private. The family will welcome friends on Tuesday afternoon at Stuhr's Mount Pleasant Chapel one hour prior to the service. Randy was born April 1, 1944 in Dayton, Ohio a son of Norman Ransdale Dicks and Betty J. Weigand Dicks. Mr. Dicks attended Clemson University. He was the founder and owner of Randy's Hobby Shop on Coleman Boulevard in Mt. Pleasant for 33 years. Mr. Dicks is survived by his mother, Betty J. Weigand Dicks of Isle of Palms, SC; two daughters, Beth Anne Francis and her husband, Kevin of Lawrenceville, GA and Dawn Marie Koger and her husband, Trey of Aiken, SC; grandchildren, Gregory Francis, Alex Francis, Chase Koger and Emily Koger. He is also survived by his long time friend, Karla Dicks. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 81 Gadsden Street, Charleston, SC 29401 or to the American Cancer Society, 5900 Core Road, Suite 504, North Charleston, SC 29406. Shocked and Deeply sadened by Randy's untimely passing. For me, he has left a life-time of memories that started the very first day in 1977 I walked into Randys Hobby Shop.

Tina and I were very saddened to learn of Randy's passing. We will always cherish the memories of the great times we had at boat races and just hanging out after the day's racing was done. He will be sorely missed and our thoughts and prayers will be with you at this sad time.
