Randy Bridegam Obituary

Randy Jo Bridegam, 73, of Summerville, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 21, 1952, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Louis and Marion Hall, Randy lived a life marked by compassion, joy, and deep devotion to those she loved. A longtime resident of Summerville, she created a warm and welcoming home, where her greatest pride and happiness was her family. Randy was the cherished wife of Lawrence "Larry" Bridegam, with whom she shared 40 years of enduring love and partnership. She is survived by her devoted husband and her five children: Lance VanAuken (Tracy), Kelly Hall (Charles), Shawn Laird (James), Nicole Podhirny (Dino), and Lawrence Bridegam Jr. (Bridget). Her legacy continues through her 14 cherished grandchildren and one great-grandchild, all of whom were the light of her life. Family was always at the heart of Randy's world. She was a dedicated wife, nurturing Mom, and adoring Gramma whose love knew no bounds. Whether hosting holiday gatherings, sharing stories around the kitchen table, or simply offering a listening ear, she made everyone feel seen, heard, and loved. Randy had an adventurous spirit. She loved to travel with Larry, with their times in Hawaii holding a special place in her heart. A highlight of her travels was the six months she and Larry spent living in Australia, embracing new cultures and experiences with enthusiasm and grace. A lifelong animal lover, Randy had a special affection for sea turtles, often collecting sea turtle-themed keepsakes that brought her joy. She was also a zealous reader who found comfort, knowledge, and escape in the pages of a good book or a challenging game of Scrabble. Randy's warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love leave an indelible mark on all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to a charity of your choice. A celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date.
