Randy Benton Obituary

Randy Kent Benton COTTAGEVILLE, SC - Mr. Randy Kent Benton, 53, of 6138 Red Oak Road, Cottageville, entered into his eternal rest Wednesday afternoon, December 9, 2009, at the Trident Medical Center in North Charleston. Funeral services will be conducted 11 o'clock, Saturday morning, December 12, 2009, from Maple Cane Baptist Church, 21287 Augusta Highway, Cottageville with The Reverend Dr. David Anderson and The Reverend Ralph Warren officiating. Interment will follow in Ackerman Cemetery at Red Oak in Cottageville, Red Oak Road, Cottageville. Mr. Benton was born December 24, 1956, in Colleton County and was the son of Mrs. Clio Hoff Benton and the late Mr. Harmon Wesley "H.W." Benton. He was a member of Maple Cane Baptist Church in Cottageville where he was a member of the men's group. He will be fondly remembered for his love of hunting and fishing. Surviving in addition to his mother of Walterboro are: a son, Jason Benton of Columbia; a daughter, Lindsey Benton of Cottageville; a sister, Janice Culpepper and her husband Edward of Cottageville; a niece, Rachel Culpepper of Cottageville; and a nephew, Lucius Culpepper of Clemson. Flowers will be accepted, or for those that wish, the family has suggested that a memorial contribution be directed in his memory to: Maple Cane Baptist Church, 21287 Augusta Highway, Cottageville, South Carolina 29435.
