Ramon E. Tucker BONNEAU BEACH - Ramon Earl Tucker, 77, of Bonneau Beach, SC, a retired nuclear director for the Charleston Naval Shipyard, died Thursday morning at the Hospice Center of Charleston. His funeral service will be 6:00 PM Saturday evening, April 16, 2011, in the CHAPEL OF DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until the hour of service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lake Moultrie Fire Department, PO Box 220, Bonneau, SC 29431, or to the St. Stephen United Methodist Church, PO Box 278, St. Stephen, SC, 29479. Mr. Tucker was born October 6, 1933, in Richmond, VA, a son of Charles Ricardo Tucker, Sr., and Dahlia Foster Tucker. He was a member of the St. Stephen United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Men. Mr. Tucker was a former board member and past president of the Bonneau Beach Civic Club, and he was a former engineer and chairman of the board of the Lake Moultrie Fire Department. He was a graduate of Murray Vocational School and was a member of IPTAY. Mr. Tucker was preceded in death by a son, Rodney R. Tucker, and a brother, Charles Ricardo Tucker, Jr. He was the widower of Mary Louise Bischoff Tucker. Surviving are, his wife, Virginia "Ginny" Thames Tucker; a daughter Rhonda T. Carpenter and her husband, Leroy, of Bonneau Beach; a son Randy R. Tucker and his wife, Donna, of Bonneau Beach; two step daughters, Judy T. Weise and her husband, Ricky, and Mary T. Gibson and her husband, Robbie, all of St. Stephen; and eight grandchildren, two step grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and four step great-grandchildren.
