Ralph "Junior" James Sweat, Jr. DORCHESTER, SC - Ralph "Junior" James Sweat, Jr., 75, of Dorchester, husband of Ruth Ann Irwin Sweat passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015 at MUSC. Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 from 6 to 8 o'clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. His funeral service will be held Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 11 o'clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Summerville Cemetery. Mr. Sweat was born August 25, 1939 in Summerville, son of the late Ralph James Sweat and Susan Runette Kelly Sweat. He attended Dorchester County Schools. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his siblings, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Mr. Sweat served in the National Guard and retired from Boeing Helicopters as an Aviation Sheet Metal Mechanic. He was a member of Lowcountry Baptist Church, Summerville. Flowers will be accepted or memorials can be made to Lowcountry Baptist Church, 530 Beech Hill Road, Summerville, SC 29485. Survivors, including his wife Ruth Ann, are two daughters: Christine Bouknight (Chuck) of North Charleston and Kelly Peterson of Summerville; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; mother-in-law: Inella R. Irwin of Dorchester; one brother: Dan W. Sweat (Bonnie) of Summerville; one sister: Linda Blumenburg (H.L.) of Summerville; one uncle: William P. Kelly of Ladson; and one aunt: Frances Roszell of Summerville; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one son: Ralph James Sweat, III, one brother: Terry L.
