R. Blocker Obituary

Rev. R. Richard Blocker Charleston - Rev. R. Richard Blocker, 89, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Magdalen Siegling Blocker, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, June 16, 2021. His Funeral Service will be held Saturday June 19, 2021, in Bethel United Methodist Church, 57 Pitt Street at 1:00 p.m. Interment, Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, June 18 in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Downtown Chapel from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Richard was born May 10, 1932 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late Riddick R. Blocker and Allene Carter Blocker. He was a graduate of Wofford College and Duke Divinity School. He was a United Methodist minister. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Magdalen S. (Missy) Blocker of Charleston, SC, two sons: R. Richard Blocker III (Angela) of Charlotte, NC; Edward R. Blocker, M.D. (Tami) of Beaufort, SC; five grandchildren: Riddick, Kathryn, Riley, Caroline and Sarah; sister, Ramona B. Horres of Charleston, SC and brother, Paul Blocker of Atlanta, GA. He is predeceased by two sisters; Peggy Cornett and Lyda Blocker.
