I have been away from my e-mail for the last two weeks and just saw the message from the alumni association. I'm so sorry to learn of the passing of Phyllis. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

A beautiful lady we will remember as having a loving & caring heart for her family and she took in the neighborhood as family and led our direction in many endeavors as well as reaching out to other neighborhoods in the city. Phyllis was a leader and we are thankful for her life. Blessed that we could call her our friend & neighbor. So sorry for her loss to the family and friends.

Laura and all the Stanley clan- we feel your pain in this devastating loss! She was a woman to be loved and admired as evidenced by all who knew her. May God be with you as you mourn her passing.

Phyllis was a lovely member of our class at Notre Dame. She lit up any space with her warm,happy nature. She came home with me for Thanksgiving our freshman year to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and my family immediately loved her. Please accept my sincere condolences in this sad time. I will always remember Phyllis' welcoming smile.

Phyllis was my roommate in our junior year at Notre Dame. I had just transfered in and...as you can imagine...she was my friend, my mentor, my teacher and my guide all during that year. Phyllis will be remembered for her magical smile, her big brown eyes and love of life! My heart goes out to all the Miglareses and Stanleys, I know you are feeling the loss of Phyllis. Phyllis was a college friend ....I will always remember her sunny smile and incredibly positive outlook. I remember holding her hand to cross Charles Street ....she used to say she was not used to big cities! Lots of laughs and singing...just a wonderful person. God bless her family. I cannot imagine how many lives she touched, she was very helpful to me when she taught GED classes at the old county high on 15th St. Thank you dear family for sharing her with us, and Mrs Stanley for your true dedication in helping others to reach their full potential in life. I served with Phyllis in Aglaia MANY years ago & still have the "Easter egg" with my name that Phyliss gave to her committee members that year. I am sure she is already organizing a special group of angels for work right now!

Grif, I remember the happy girl at WHHS that smiled at everyone. She was so out-going and cute. Bless you and your family in the days to come.

My sincere condolences to you Griff and your children. Phyllis was a great example of the perfect neighbor. She was a wonderful teacher and has taught me so much in the 10 short years we have lived next door. I can not imagine the projects she is working on in Heaven. I will miss her terribly. Our family moved to Tuscaloosa in 1996 and I went to work for Griff. Phyllis and Griff were always quick to do anything to help us, and our 4 kids. They even took time to attend their high school graduations. Phyllis always happy, positive and energetic has been an wonderful example to us. Out thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time. She will be missed but what she gave throughout her life will live on forever.

Phyllis was my best friend for forty years. I will miss her every day.

I had the honor of knowing Phyllis when she worked so tirelessly at Shelton State. She brought sunshine and joy whenever she walked in a room. She will be truly missed and the world lost a special lady when God called her home to be with him. My prayers and love go out to the family of this remarkable lady.

I have fond memories of just being a part of the Tuscaloosa Co. Bd. of Education meetings to help Phyllis market Adult Education . She was definately a "Cheerleader" and strived to make this world a better place. She loved life and influenced more people than she probably even knew.

I worked with Phyllis at Shelton State many years ago. She was beautiful inside and out. I always thought she was a saint. My prayers are with her family.

I used to work for Griff and was honored to have met Phyllis. She was one of the warmest and sweetest people I have ever known. Griff and family, please accept Gary and my condolences... Blessings to you.

Some of the most wonderful memories in my life were with my friend Phyllis in Brevard NC. Her smile, laughter and love of life were contagious each time I was around her. My young son adored both Phyllis & Griff and greeted them with "What doin". Over the years Phyllis always greeted me with this special greeting.

My prayers are wtth Griff, Griffin, Laurel and all the family during this time.

We have lost a good soldier and friend. Rest well Phyllis! Many prayers for her family.

Being married to Phyllis's cousin, Don, I enjoyed the love and friendship of Phyllis. She was one of the most fabulous women I have ever known and I will miss her deeply. We are all blessed to have Phyllis touch our lives. Her family brought her the greatest joy. I shall never forget her.

I am so sorry to hear of Ms. Phyllis' passing. I never met a nicer, more caring, unselfish woman. She served our Lord well in her short life along with those of us that had the pleasure of knowing her. Ms. Phyllis had more energy and "go get 'em" spirit than anyone I've ever known!

My mother (Ruth Phillips) spoke highly of Ms. Phyllis during her teaching years at Holy Spirit, and was amazed at what she could get done in a very short length of time. Mama knew she could count on Ms. Phyllis any time.

Thank you for all you've done for so many, Ms. Phyllis!
