Philip Riedel Obituary

Philip Riedel, Jr. CHARLESTON - Philip Riedel, Jr., 61, of Charleston, SC and husband of Susan Ann Kimble Riedel passed away on July 3, 2018. Philip was born April 5, 1957 in Washington, DC to Philip Riedel, Sr. and Patricia Curtis Riedel. Phil poured his heart into the love of truck driving to which he was very proud. He also had a solution to everything and had an opinion whether you wanted it or not. You always knew when he came into a room; he would look everyone in the eyes, shake their hand and make them feel wanted. His love of fishing, crabbing and shrimping ran through his veins and he was always truly happy when on the water. In addition to his wife Susan of 28 years he was survived by his daughters, Jennifer Riedel, Sara Riedel, and Ashley Drake and his only son Christopher Riedel; his grandchildren Madison and Selena Nicholson, Landen and Haylee Drake, and Kevin Holmes as well as his brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. His is preceded in death by his brother, Michael Riedel and nephew Philip Riedel, III. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be held at 12 PM on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Nativity Catholic Church, James Island, SC. Burial will be private. Condolences may be viewed or submitted online at www.mcalister-smith.com. Every time Phil came to go golfing or shrimping with Tim, he always made a point to come in and say hi and give me a hug. He was truly a wonderful man. Phil will be missed greatly.

We will never forget Phil's love for his family: wife, chidren and grandchildren. He was always full of enthusiasm, joy, and energy around his grandchildren and our special needs son. He will be missed.
