Philip Hedrick Murray Charleston - Philip Hedrick Murray, 92, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of the late Betty Justice Murray, entered into eternal rest Saturday, December 31, 2022. His Funeral Service will be held Thursday, January 5, 2023, in the Holy Spirit Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3075 Bees Ferry Road, at 1:00 pm with interment following in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Philip was born May 6, 1930, in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late John Olin Manardy Murray and the late Ruth Frances Hedrick. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force in Korea and spent a career in television electronics. He is survived by two sons, Philip H. Murray, Jr. of Charleston, SC, and Thurston Patrick Murray of Charleston, SC; daughter, Frieda Murray Mackey of North Charleston, SC; three grandchildren, Philip Gamble Murray, Kathleen I. Mackey, Kristofer C. Mackey; great-granddaughter, Joelle Mackey; and great-grandson, Jackson Mackey.
