Philip Arnold Obituary

Philip Lee Arnold SUMMERVILLE - Philip Lee Arnold, 61, died Sunday, January 19, 2014, at his home. Mr. Arnold was the husband of Lisa Newsom Arnold, married 21 years, of the home. He is the father of two daughters, Chessie and Cassie, also of the home. In addition, he is survived by his mother-in-law and friend, Billie P. Newsom, who resides with them; best friends, Gene and Ellen Martin of Goose Creek, SC; and a host of family and friends. Lisa lost her soulmate and best friend. Phil was a devoted father and loyal friend. Phil and Lisa are of American Indian descent, practicing their culture and teaching their daughters the ways of their ancestors. Phil was born in Kingsport, TN and has been a resident of SC for the past 7 years. He retired from CSX Railroad after 40 years of service in 2012. Phil was an Army veteran, a member of the Masonic Lodge, Jericho Temple and Scottish Rite. He was also a member of the American Legion and VFW of Kingsport, TN. Barbara and I send our condolences, prayers and best wishes to each of you! Phil was a one of a kind and I(Jim) respected him for it. Phil, Lisa and the girls were great neighbors and we miss you being here. Our prayers have gone out to you daily and will continue for you. Tom and I were so sorry to read of Phil's passing. Phil was quite the character when you lived across the street. We always knew Phil was watching out for our neighborhood. Always felt a bit safer with him out and about! We pray God's comfort and peace on you and the girls.
