Philip Albano Obituary

ALBANO, Philip Philip W. Albano, 94, formerly of Snyder, New York, husband of Mildred L. Trawick Albano died Saturday evening, July 12, 2008 at Life Care Center of Charleston, North Charleston. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at 9 o'clock at St. John the Beloved Catholic Church, Summerville. Entombment will follow in Dorchester Memory Gardens, Summerville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 409 King Street, Suite 300, Charleston, SC 29403. Phil was born April 25, 1914 in Jamestown, New York, son of the late Joseph Albano and Sarah Caprino Albano. He was captain of three sports in high school, a collegiate All-America football player at Niagara University, a Major in the United States Air Force/ Veteran of WWII, enjoyed a lifetime career in upper management in the liquor industry, along with being an avid tennis player. Surviving in addition to his wife are daughter, Toni Albano and her husband Barney Brown; son, J. Michael Albano and his wife Mary Ellen; daughter, Tina Albano Stone and her husband Mark; granddaughter, Alexandria and Cassandra; sisters, Sally Vullo and Josephine Enserro; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, sisters, Mary Ann Green and Bessie Paterniti, brother, Joseph Albano, Jr., and brother-in-laws, Angelo Enserro and Sam Vullo. I am very sorry to hear about the passing of Phil. I remember as if it were yesterday talking to Phil while he was watching matches at the Village Glen (especially Mike). He always had a smile and good thoughts. A celebration for a wonderful life. May peace be with you during this difficult time.
