I graduated from Northwestern High with Phil and we attended St. John's UMC together in Rock Hill. I ran into him in Charleston after I moved there and it was a treat to be reunited as friends for a bit! As our 30th reunion approaches next year, we will be missing one of the greatest guys around! It was a true shock to hear of his passing and my heart goes out to his family at this time.

Phil and I have been friends for some twenty years. He was always there for me if I needed a friend to talk to when I was down and needed cheering up. His disarming smile and infectious laugh always made my problems seem smaller. He will be dearly missed....Dr. Olivia Palmer, Charleston

Phil was responsible for getting me off drugs back about ten years ago. He saved my life and showed me there was a differant way to live.
He showed me that there was fun to be had in a life without drugs. That there was accual hobbies and careers that one could have without them centering around getting high.
I owe a lot of who I am you Phil Huff and now at such a young age he is killed. Leaving behind a teenage boy, a new wife, family and a friend that would do anything for him.
I know the nexy time life gets really tuff and I am not sure what to do that I will reach for the phone and think of calling Phil.

Phil had become "Larger Then Life."
Since my surgery in January we have had time to rekindle.
We recently went out with some other Sigma Nu's and talked of our years of wandering the streets of DT Charleston, making trips to Clemson games, parties in the “Snake Pit”, road trips for snow skiing, camp outs on the water, and the best of all being CofC students in the late 70’s... well you know, when the girls out numbered the guys. We laughed! We laughed so hard we both cried.
This conversation took place in the Windjammer back in September and after all Phil and I have been through together since 1979 he said something to me that night that I will never ever forget.
As we stood at our cars still laughing at the silly things we had done he leaned into me, gave me this huge bear hug and said…... ‘Bobby, I appreciate you for being in my life”
You will be missed my friend but never forgotten because you are now bigger then life its self!
