On behalf of the Charleston Animal Society, I want to thank you for asking for donations in lieu of flowers in honor of Mr. McManus. Your kind gesture in honor of His memory will leave a legacy of hope for homeless animals. We are extremely saddened by your loss and hope that knowing that his memory will be helping so many animals is a small comfort to you. Thanks so much! For the animals I am, Kay Hyman, director of Community Engagement

I loved Peter. When my Dad died, our adopted brother Peter, showed up to spend the day with us. We all were so close when we grew up. Peter was the one person outside our family who spent the most time overnite at our home. He was really my 4th brother and he will be terribly missed. The Moore's all love the McManuses like brothers and sisters and we are so sorry for your premature loss of Peter-the middle child in your family of 11 children. I was thinking Peter was likely a key hub in your family in that birth order position. With love, John P. Moore III and family
