Perry Maynard Obituary

Perry Maynard, Jr. GOOSE CREEK - Perry Maynard, Jr., 82, of Goose Creek, entered into eternal rest November 1, 2015. Born in Cyclone, WV, he was the son of the late Perry Maynard, Sr. and Junie Miller Maynard and husband to Aleta Pennington Maynard. Perry served his country in the United States Navy for 22 years, retiring as a Petty Officer First Class. He also retired as a Machinist from the Charleston Naval Shipyard, where he worked in Shop 38. He was a member of Goose Creek Worship Center and the Fleet Reserve. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Aleta Maynard; two sons, Danny Maynard of Hanahan and Timothy Maynard and wife Erica of Tampa, FL; daughter, Susan Brewer of North Charleston. Perry was predeceased by his brother, James Lee Maynard; son, Perry Bruce Maynard; and his three granddaughters, Cynthia and Jennifer Haddock and Anya Maynard. Funeral service will be held Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. in MCALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, GOOSE CREEK CHAPEL. Burial will follow with military honors in Plantation Memorial Gardens, Moncks Corner. The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 4, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
