To my dearly deceased Aunt Edith,

Your home has always been a model of warmth and love – there were two pillars that stood strong, two guiding lights. You and Uncle Wesley have stood for everything that is good, everything that is kind. And now both of those lights have gone out. But love is one of those unexplainable things. Once you have been warmed by it, touched by it – it carries on, continues, even when the torch has gone out. And so it is with both you and Uncle Wesley, with all who have been touched by your goodness and love. When I say it carries on, I mean truly that there is some part of you and Uncle Wesley in me (and in all my brothers). Every summer we came up to Charleston we picked up a little more. And so whatever part of me that is good and loving and warm has also been molded by you two. And so this love will carry on, no matter how far I go, no matter how scattered we are. Two of my guiding lights have gone out, but I still feel them. And they shine just as bright.

Zenobia,Tatum,Terrell and Erica,
We are sorry to hear of Aunt Edith's passing. I will miss her so much. She was so full of life and joy and made it so much fun to visit Charleston every year when I was a kid. I know that she is with the Lord Jesus.
You all must carry on and be strong in the Lord Jesus. May the Holy Spirit give you strength and comfort and may you feel the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ holding you.

WE CELEBRATE 95 YEARS OF LIFE..TO GOD BE THE GLORY FOR ALL THAT HE HAS DONE.

TO ERICA, TATUM, & TERRELL: I LOVE YOU ALL, GRANDMA HAS MADE A JOURNEY TO A PLACE SO SPENDID AND PEACEFUL. FILLED WITH JOY AND LAUGHTER. AND IF I COULD USE MY IMAGINATION FOR A MOMENT, I CAN SEE HER AND MR WESLEY ENGAGED IN A KISS AND EMBRACED IN EACH OTHER'S ARMS.....OH, WHAT A GREAT REUNION.

Don't think of her as gone away-
Her journey's just begun.
Life holds so many faucets
this earth is only one.
Just think of her as resting
from the sorrows and the tears,
in a place of warmth and comfort, where there are no days and years.
