Peggy Willis Obituary

Peggy Willis GREENSBORO, NC - Peggy Willis, age 59, passed from labor to reward on Resurrection Sunday, March 27, 2016, at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro, NC. Born in Charleston, SC, the second of three children born to Marie Simmons and the late Henry Simmons, she graduated from Charleston High School, and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she met Robert Lee Willis, Jr., whom she married in 1981. A woman of tremendous accomplishment, Peggy obtained two degrees. She earned a bachelor's degree from UNC and a master's from UNC-Greensboro. She was employed by, and retired from, Miller Brewing Company, where she worked as a chemist. She was long-time member of Love and Faith Christian Fellowship in Greensboro, and was a committed Christian whose life was a blessing to all she knew. Predeceased by her husband, Robert; her father, Henry; and her brother, Mark; she leaves to celebrate her life, her sons, Matthew and David Willis of Greensboro; her mother, Marie Simmons of Charleston; her sister, Fran Atchison (Samuel) of Greensboro; sister-in-law, Cheryl Simmons of Greensboro; three aunts, Irene Bennett of Augusta, GA; Evelyn Coleman (Benjamin) of Charleston; and Helen Ravenel of Summerville, SC; one uncle, Willis Ravenel (Ann) of Augusta, GA; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 2, at Love and Faith Christian Fellowship, 4344 Blackberry Road, Greensboro, NC. The viewing will be from 11:00 - 12:00 noon, with the service immediately following. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Hargett Funeral Service, 905 East Market Street, Greensboro, NC, 27401. Simmons and Willis family my condolences. I am sorry to hear that the best friend I ever had has left us. Peggy was my life line and supporter as a teenager and I have never met anyone like her since. I thank God she was in my life. She was the best! Rest in peace my friend, until we meet again.

I have just learned about Peggy's passing. I have just recently come to know Peggy and can say that she truly was a vibrant and loving person. She also was a deeply faithful individual person to God and loving Mother to her sons.
