Peggy Schipmann Obituary

Peggy Schipmann St. Stephen, SC - Peggy Darby Schipmann, 89, of St. Stephen, SC, a retired nurse for the St. Stephen Family Practice, died Sunday afternoon in a local nursing home. Her funeral will be 3:00 PM Wednesday afternoon, October 18, 2017, in the CHAPEL OF DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 PM until the hour of service on Wednesday. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of St. Stephen, PO Box 576, St. Stephen, SC 29479. Mrs. Schipmann was born October 9, 1928, in Charleston, MS, a daughter of Claude Benjamin Darby and Helen Elsie Bonds Darby. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, St. Stephen, where she was also a former choir member. Mrs. Shipmann enjoyed playing bridge on Wednesday afternoons with her friends, crocheting, watching football, and the Atlanta Braves baseball. Along with her husband, they grew roses and won "Yard of the Month" often. Most of all, Mrs. Schipmann loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ben Darby; a grandson, Bobby Rudloff; and a granddaughter, Stacey Brabham. Mrs. Schipmann was the widow of Robert Edward Schipmann. Surviving are, three daughters, Ann S. Hess of Charleston, Mary S. Rudloff and her husband, Charles, of Moncks Corner, and Elsie S. Jernigan and her husband, Hank, of St. Stephen; a son, Billy Schipmann and his wife, Laura, of St. George; nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
