Peggy Louise (Phelps) McKeeMrs. Peggy Louise Phelps McKee, age 68, of 308 Iris Lane, Danville, Va., passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2016, at her home.Mrs. McKee was born on November 24, 1948, in Danville, Va., to the late Jack Lawson Phelps and Mary Alice Haskins Phelps.She worked as a bus driver for Pittsylvania County Schools and attended Timberlake Baptist Church.Mrs. McKee is survived by her loving daughter, Mary Tate (Nelson) of Danville; three grandchildren, Lillian McKee, Landon McKee, and Lawson Brandon, all of Danville; one great-granddaughter, Zaralyn Lockhart of Danville; three brothers, Curtis Phelps, Daniel Phelps, and Bobby Phelps, all of Danville.In addition toher parents, Mrs. McKee was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dewey McKee.Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at Barker Funeral Home chapel at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Walter Yancey officiating. Interment will follow in McKee Family Cemetery, 332 Iris Lane, Danville, VA 24540. Visitation will be held on Monday evening, November 28, 2016, from 6 until 8 p.m.Barker Funeral Services is respectfully serving the McKee family.
