Peggy Bailey Obituary

Peggy Ann Bailey JAMES ISLAND - Peggy Ann Bailey, 73, left this life to be with the Lord on Friday, October 9, 2009, at Hospice House of Charleston, in Mt. Pleasant. Mrs. Bailey was a native of Charleston, long time resident of James Island, and a member of James Island Baptist Church for many years. She was the daughter of the late Ardee Curtis Borders and Myra Louise McElhenney Borders. Mrs. Bailey was the widow of Myron Dean Bailey, retired Naval Chief Petty Officer. Predeceased by one sister, Betty L. Landis of Moncks Corner, SC. She is survived by her four children, Patti Verhine-Sanders of Myrtle Beach, SC, Barbara Bailey of Johns Island, SC, Cynthia Ellis-Post (Rick Post) of Carv, NC, and Richard Bailey (Linda Bailey) of James Island, SC; five grandchildren, Daniel Verhine, Jennifer Verhine, Tina Ellis, Kayla Bailey, and Ricky Bailey; two sisters, Doris Clark of James Island, SC, and Pamela Maxlow of Walterboro, SC, and one brother, J. Richard Borders of Mint Hill, NC; along with numerous nieces and nephews. The family and friends are invited to attend her visitation, Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at 6 p.m., with her memorial service to follow at 7 p.m., at James Island Baptist Church at Riverland Terrace. Flowers and/or donations can be sent to James Island Baptist Church, 3483 Wapoo Drive, James Island, SC 29412. Donations in her memory may also be sent to Hospice of Charleston FOundation, 676 Wando Park Blvd., Mt. Pleasant, SC 29462.
