Pearl Crawford Obituary

Pearl Meehan Crawford MT. PLEASANT - Pearl Meehan Crawford, wife of the late Wesley A. Crawford of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina died Thursday, August 30, 2012. The relatives and friends of Pearl Crawford are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Sunday, September 2, 2012 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC, MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL at 3:00 pm. The burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 1, 2012 in the Mount Pleasant Chapel from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Pearl was born in Savannah, Georgia, daughter of the late Christopher Francis Meehan and Martha Prevatt Meehan. She was a Real Estate agent for ten years, was a Charter member and former president of the East Cooper Republican Women's Club, member of the Mt. Pleasant Planning and Zoning Committee, was also appointed and served as chairman of the Charleston Voter Registration Board, and a member of the Mt. Pleasant Appearance Commission. She was also a faithful member of Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church for 65 years, where she taught Sunday School. She is survived by a daughter, Kathleen E. Hughes (Foster), of Camden, SC; two sons, Steven T. Crawford (Claudia), of Cottageville, SC and John W. Crawford (Virginia), of Summerville, SC; five grandchildren, Martha King (Richard), of Johns Island, SC, John Crawford Jr. (Glenda), of Greenville, SC, Anna Raulerson (Gene), of Lugoff, SC, Justin Hughes (Emily), of Anderson, SC, and Travis Hughes (Michele), of James Island, SC; and her five great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Franke at Seaside Foundation, 1885 Rifle Range Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464 or Lutheran Hospice, 1885 Rifle Range Road, Suite 46, Mt.
