Pauline Helen Novak Britton CHARLESTON - Entered into eternal rest on the morning of February 16, 2012, Pauline Helen Novak Britton, widow of Captain Richard Francis Britton, Jr. Residence, Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services, Monday, February 20, 2012 at 1:00 PM, at the graveside in Bonaventure Cemetery, Savannah, GA. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL Sunday, between 1:00 and 3:00 pm. Pauline was born September 6, 1923 in Baltimore, MD, the daughter of Piotr "Peter" Nowakowski and Stanislawa "Anna" Golembieska Nowakowski. She was confirmed at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Baltimore and attended Baltimore Catholic schools. Pauline was married April 25, 1945 to Captain Richard F. Britton at Circular Congregational Church in Charleston, SC. She is survived by two daughters: Patricia B. Corbin (Freddie) of Yonges, Island, SC and Paula B. Robinson of Charleston, SC; two sons: Richard Francis Britton, III (Barbara) of North Charleston, SC and Walter Roland Britton (Regina) of Supply, NC; Brother-in-law: Robert Oristano of Mentor, OH; sister-in-law: Colleen Britton of Virginia Beach, VA; nine grandchildren: Kristen C. Rowe (Thomas), William Walton Corbin (Marie), Britton David Corbin (Meggan), Anissa Helen Britton, Rebecca Carrie Becker (Norman), Carey Richard Britton, Elizabeth Pauline Britton, Zachary Adam Robinson and Erin Roselee Robinson; 9 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She is predeceased by 2 sisters: Jennie N. Andrykes and Gertrude N. Case; four brothers: Edward, Henry, Walter and Milton Novak. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hospice of Charleston Foundation, P.O. Box 417, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29465 or to a charity of one's choice.
