A sad time for musicians here in the lowcountry. I couldn't count the number of times I sat right in front of Paul so I could listen to him play with John and Steve in The Jumper Cables. His power and presence on bass completed a trio that was a force to be heard, and pleasure to the ear of so many Charlestonians. The first time I saw the band was in a standing room only crowd on Market St. I simply couldn't believe what I was hearing, and I was hooked from that day. Paul's spirit and soul live well in my heart. I have fond memories. I wish him safe travels.

To David and Paul's family; I didn't personally know Paul but learned of him from his mom. Ms. Gloria and myself were in the hospital together for a few days and enjoyed walking and talking. David we have certainly lost our share of love one's over the last few years. I will never forget your kindness to me by telling me the story about my George Tucker and the man he was at WRAFBase. My prayer's for you all.

When I was 15, Paul got an old Rambler station wagon and we had many great times roaming around Macon and Warner Robins. I hadn't seen him in years; I heard he was in Charleston, but never got around to looking him up. I wish I had.

My sympathies to Paul's family...I just learned of his death today and spoke with his brother to confirm that he was the Paul Tucker I remembered...tall, lanky, red haired with a devilish grin always on his face...although I lost contact with him over the years I remember him fondly especially around Macon's music scene...May the beat go on and the strings never break...

I was very saddened to hear of Paul's passing - growing up together in Hillcrest Heights and playing music together all over middle Georgia as teenagers in the 60s were very fond memories. Countless hours of learning, practicing, and performing music with Paul was a lot of fun - ironically, when I heard of Paul's passing this morning I was listening to Beatles music, which Paul and I spent a lot of time listening to and playing. I am so sorry to hear that Captain Paul died. I spent many days with him on the R/V Anita and the R/V Silver Crescent. He was a good captain and a pleasure to work with. I never heard him play music, but enjoyed the stories that he told. My sincere condolences to his family.
