Dear Mrs. Slesinger, Harriet and Jerold,
It goes without saying that Mr. Slesinger's passing is a very painful event for me personally. Our families have been more than just great and close friends for as long as I can remember; rather, we have really been like one extended family and have shared in all family events equally. That is why this loss impacts me so deeply. I have so many wonderful memories of Mr. Slesinger, from the famous new year's eve deli and card parties at our house for so many years, to the drop-bys at the house just to say hello, to the free television troubleshooting and, of course, of the very thoughtful visits each and every time I have been home visiting all these years.
I shall always remember Mr. Slesinger as an honest man, a humble man, a true down-to-earth person who knew not from any pretensions when dealing with other human beings....what you saw was what you got and, well, there aren't too many people in that category who pass through our lives. I feel lucky to have known him all my life and am certain that his memory will serve as a blessing. May you be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem and may you know from no more such sorrow.

May 8, 2012

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family Phylis. It has been a long struggle but Paul is at peace.
Love to you all,
Jack and Jackie. Augusta
