Paul Marshall Obituary

Paul G. Marshall, Jr. Charleston - Paul Grimball Marshall, Jr., better known as Sonny, passed away in the early morning of January 24, 2022 in Charleston, South Carolina. Sonny is survived by Virginia, his wife of 40 years; his sister, Maureen; his daughters, Jacque, Kimi, Keleigh, Sarah, and Whitney; and his grandchildren, Presley (3), Mackenzie (1), Thomas (6 mo), Paul Grimball Marshall III "Tripp" (2 mo). Sonny was born in Sumter, SC on March 23, 1956 to Paul Grimball and Mary Hazel Marshall. He graduated from the University of San Diego in 1978. On November 28, 1981, he married Virginia "Teents" Marshall, and in the following years welcomed his 5 daughters. Sonny went on to create numerous successful construction companies in both CA and SC. He was a devoted father, businessman, and philanthropist. He was a giving man and would be regarded as incredibly generous by anyone who knew him. He championed and raised money for numerous organizations over the years. He enjoyed traveling the world and going to Disney World with his daughters and wife, playing the accordion and snuggling with his chihuahuas. He was also active in the Low Country Model A's and Charleston Battalion of Artillery. He was a sports fan of all things- basketball, baseball, football, and hockey, especially his local minor league teams (Go Dogs!). He was a brilliant leader and raised his daughters to follow in his footsteps. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. Sonny was laid to rest at Concord Presbyterian Church in Sumter, South Carolina. The family kindly asks that in his memory you donate to the Young Musicians Foundation @ymf.org or to Positive Approach to Care at: https://shop.teepasnow.com//product/support- pac-now/.
