I met Dr. Griffin was when I was 11 years old. I had polio as an infant and through surgery and his innovations got me to walk with only a cane from crutches and a brace. He offered me a job at Vanderbilt University in his orthopedic department in 1971. He was an incredibly kind man and I grew to love him. He will be sorely missed. My condolences to his children whom I remember.

I regularly saw Dr. Griffin from the time that I was 4 years old to when I reached 12 years of age. He was always so very kind and is a major part of the reason why I will be striving to earn a residency seat in orthopedic surgery.
I realize some time has gone by since his passing, but I would still like to extend my condolences to his family.

Dr Griffin performed surgery on me when I was five years old at Vanderbilt in 1975. He always was this towering thin man with white hair and a big smile my visits were short in time yet he filled my mind with many fond memories. His intervention allowed me to walk, run, practice karate, golf. Born in Mexico, when I decided to go into medical school in Mexico City I found that medicine was practiced differently from what was my benchmark (Dr Griffin's bedside manner and down to earth behavior) so I sought and got training in internal medicine in the United States

Paul was a mentor to countless orthopaedic surgeons. He was a superb physician and a true gentleman. I have never meet anybody like him and maybe never will. God bless Paul!

I worked with Dr. Griffin at Vanderbilt Hospital as a social worker and later education coordinator in the Cerebral Palsy Clinic. He helped find funding to work with special education issues of patients with cerebral palsy. It was a job I loved and I was so grateful to him for helping me pursue a dream. He was an amazing man who was compassionate and caring toward patients and staff. Truly a one-of-a-kind person and I hated it when he left Vanderbilt. Rest in peace kind man.

Dr. Griffin was such a blessing to my family. It was truly a gift sent from God when he moved to Greenville. He was the best in his field and exactly what we needed. My then 4 year old son was referred to him right after they moved here, about 20 years ago now. He performed two complex, life-changing surgeries on our son's feet. He was always so kind and compassionate - and made our young son at ease all the way. After so many visits with him over the years, he was always the same - never rushed, always friendly, gentle and compassionate. And the two of them became friends. We could not have ever thanked him enough. Once when we were at his office for an appointment, there was a young woman waiting there to see him who had flown to Greenville so that she could thank him for helping her as a young child. What an amazing life to have helped so many people!
Sending love and prayers to your whole family during this time.

A true gentleman and wonderful physician-educator. He gave me my oral orthopedic board exams, reassuring a nervous young physician and making it into a learning experience. He will be missed.

I was one of Paul's first fellows at Vanderbilt in 1977. Our first child was born there in 1977 andPaul and Margaret were ever so nice to us that year. He was a real gentleman and was a pleasure to have learned from him. He will be forever missed. My condolences to his family.

To Dr. Griffin's family my condolences at this sad time. Dr. Griffin was a fine man and gentleman. I was his hospital volunteer at the office, what a fine teacher he was, how many times he shared his skill with this lowly "pink lady". Such great memories also of golf fun.
