Paul Alexander Obituary

Paul Alexander SUMMERVILLE - Paul Alexander, 73, of Summerville, SC, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2022. Paul was born in Charleston to the late Woodrow W. Alexander and Fannie Lou Vaughn Alexander. He attended Chicora High School and graduated from the Apprentice School at the Charleston Naval Shipyard. He was a proud member and past president of the Charleston County Volunteer Rescue Squad. He also worked his way up to Platoon Sgt (E-7) in the Army Reserve. He spent 40 years of his life in the coffee business. When he wasn't working, he was usually surf fishing or camping on Morris Island. He was an avid reader, spinner of a great story, and a man who always knew when the fish were biting. He was stubborn as all get out and greatly loved by his children, family and dear friends. He was a proud Charleston native. He is survived by his children; Nicole Darsey (spouse Danny, granddaughter, Meghan (spouse, James), and great-granddaughter, Madelyn); Alice Alexander (grandson, Cooper), and Paul "PJ" Alexander, Jr. (spouse, Christine and grandchildren, Nadalyn and Payton), first wife, Irene Alexander, and sister, Patricia Keeler. He is predeceased by his second wife, Karen Alexander. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022 from 3-6 pm at The Hilton Garden Inn Summerville on 406 Sigma Dr., Summerville, SC 29486. Feel free to wear a hawaiian shirt or casual clothes. In lieu of flowers, cash donations can be made at the memorial for Chicora's Fifth Thursday Social, which was one of Paul's favorite events. Paul and his family lived next door to us on Allen Drive. i remember a very active and lanky boy who had a school bus in their back yard. He was always dragging out something to show us. He was fun. Prayers for his family.

May Paul rest in peace and sail the quiet waters. He was a good man with a good smile. We always enjoyed seeing and being with him at the Fifth Thursday Chicora Social. He will be missed. Our sympathies to the family and may you find peace and comfort through God's Grace.
