Patrick Brown Obituary

Patrick Del Ray Brown CHARLESTON - Patrick Del Ray Brown, age 80, of Charleston, entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 16, 2022. Born in Kennett, Missouri on December 9, 1941, Pat served in the US Navy from 1963-1967. After leaving the service, he married the former Brenda Hensley and began a career as an industrial HVAC mechanic. Over the years he worked for Carrier, Cummins, and Johnson Controls before finishing his career and retiring from Albright & Wilson/Rhodia. He was passionate about many hobbies, most of which involved growing beautiful things-including roses, tropical fish, and citrus fruit. He also grew a beautiful family and is survived by Brenda, his wife of 54 years; three children: Ann Salley and her husband Larry, Erica Brown, and Tommy Brown; five grandchildren: David Salley and his wife, Rachel, of Benton, Arkansas, Jacob Salley and his wife, Sarah, of Atlanta, Georgia, Mary Elizabeth Salley, of Nashville, Tennessee, Jonah Brown, of Charleston, and Lucas Brown, of Charleston; and four great-grandchildren, as well as by Margaret Hoover and her daughter and son-in-law, Alyne and Aaron Rothberg and their daughter, Mara, who were "chosen family." Pat was a faithful member of the Summerville Church of Christ, and he cared deeply for children. In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorials be made to Palmetto Bible Camp (http://www.pbc.camp) or the Southeastern Children's Home (https://sech.org). A memorial service will be held at the Summerville Church of Christ at 11 AM on Saturday, June 4. Visit our guestbook at legacy.com/obituaries/charleston
