Pat was my dearest friend at USC. It shocked me when she told me she was leaving Carolina in 1967 to get married. Pat was absolutely beautiful and sweet. She didn't consider herself that though. I nominated her for the Homecoming Court. She wasn't keen on that so she turned around and nominated me. We laughed. Our dorm voted her in. She couldn't have been more gorgeous riding around the football field on Homecoming Day. She was incredibly special to many. I am saddened to hear of her passing. Stephanie Schnatz

Some called you Pat, some called you Patsy. Grammy Bowes always called you Patsy as did I when I was younger. Sometimes grammy confused me with you as she couldn't see very well as she got older. I assumed that confusion was due to the fact that we were both so tall compared to her four foot ten inch frame. Anyway, I was happy to be mistaken for your beautiful self. Once I told her it's Debby, not Patsy, we would both laugh. Even though you were not close by, you were never far from our thoughts and hearts. We all looked forward to your visits because we knew there would be many memories and laughs to be shared among us. Though your physical self is at rest, I know your soul is alive and rejoicing with the rest of our family. May God bless you until I see you again.
With love and hugs,
Debby
