Patricia Keating Obituary

Patricia Kearse Keating, 92, of Yonges Island, SC, passed away on August 12, 2025 at her home. Funeral services will begin at 11am on August 23, 2025, at Wesley Memorial Methodist Church, 5412 Hwy 165, Hollywood, SC. Burial will follow at Christ St. Paul's Church Cemetery, 4981 Chapel Road, Hollywood, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Epworth Children's Home, P.O. Box 50466, Columbia, SC 29250 or on-line at epworthchildrenshome.org. Patricia was born on December 10, 1932 in Adams Run, SC, daughter of the late Wesley Kearse and Thelma Prescott Kearse. She graduated from St. Paul's High School, class of 1950. Following graduation she worked for U.S. Customs Charleston, The Charleston Naval Shipyard, and the offices of the FBI, Washington, DC. She was later a school secretary at The Country Day School and an office manager for Marvin Meats, both in Hollywood, SC. At the time of her death, she was the oldest charter member of Wesley Memorial Methodist Church, a church that she loved attending from her early childhood in Adams Run. She is survived by her son Michael Keating (Angela), daughter Karen Grooms (Cleveland) and; son-in-law Joel Shealy; three grandchildren: Christine Brandon (Jason), Eric Shealy, and Erin Shealy; great granddaughter Kathleen Brandon. She was predeceased by her husband John Keating and her daughter Kathleen Shealy.
