Patricia Fleury Obituary

Patricia DeHay Powell Fleury, 91, of Moncks Corner, SC, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning in a Charleston nursing home. Born on November 4, 1933, in Moncks Corner, SC, she was the daughter of David McCants 'Mr. Pat' DeHay and Marguerite Todd DeHay. Mrs. Fleury was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church, Moncks Corner, where she served as a church and pastoral secretary for over 50 years before retiring. She was a graduate of Berkeley High School and had a passion for painting, crocheting, and Swedish weaving, often creating beautiful blankets. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fleury was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Breanna Ballentine, and her beloved husband, Robert V. Fleury. She is survived by her son, Joseph S. 'Jay' Powell and his wife, Suzy, of Moncks Corner; her sister, Hazel D. Hughes of Hanahan; six grandchildren, Megan Litchfield, Devon Kutzman, Jantzen Metts, Jon Arnett, Trey Ballentine, and Tyler Ballentine; and eight great grandchildren, with another on the way. Mrs. Fleury's life was a testament to her faith, dedication, and love for her family and community. Her funeral will be 3:00 PM Thursday afternoon, September 25, 2025, in the First Baptist Church, Moncks Corner. Interment will follow in St. John's Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Dial-Murray Funeral Home, Moncks Corner. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 PM until the hour of service on Thursday.
