Patricia Baker Obituary

Patricia Stewart Baker Kiawah Island - Patricia Stewart Baker, 74, of Kiawah Island, South Carolina, wife of Albert "Chubby" Leon Baker, entered into eternal rest Thursday, October 27, 2022, after a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer. Her Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Patricia was born November 9, 1947 in Washington, DC, the daughter of Luedell Sherman Stewart and the late Wesley Stewart. She studied at Springbrook High School and the University of Maryland. Patricia was very involved in her community and enjoyed volunteering with many organizations. She lived in Maryland and on Kiawah Island. Patricia never met a stranger and encouraged others to make the best of the good days by not worrying about the things they can't control. Family was her priority, but she loved being with close friends, enjoying food and wine, cooking, entertaining, and tending to her flowers. Patricia retired from Golf Headquarters as the corporate secretary and treasurer. She loved playing golf at the Country Club of Charleston and being active in Las Dames. "If there was ever an angel, she is one of them," said her husband, Chubby. Her kindness, grace, resilience and positivity will be missed by all who knew her. Patricia is survived by her husband of 26 years, Chubby; two daughters: Stacey Coale Jenks of Charlotte, NC and Wendy Coale Murphy (Ron) of Park City, UT; step-daughter, Christine Baker Sykes (Mark) of Charleston, SC; grandchildren: Karlyn Coale Jenks, Braydon Loyal Jenks, Marion Luedell Murphy and Katharine Louise Murphy; and sister, Carolyn Valente (Carmine) of Annapolis, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kiawah Women's Foundation, Backpack Buddies Project, 130 Gardeners Circle, PMB I, Johns Island, SC 29455. A memorial message may be sent to the family by visiting our website at www.jhenrystuhr.com. Visit our guestbook at legacy.com/obituaries/charleston

Chubby & Stacey,
I am so sorry.
May her smile, enthusiasm & hope be in the heart of all those she touched.
It was a pleasure to know, if but for a moment, her sincere & genuine twinkle...
Be at peace

I am heart broken to hear of the passing of Mrs. Baker. She was always so sweet and always had a smile on her face every time I saw her on the golf course at the County Club. Praying for your family.
