Pat Gianatos Obituary

GIANATOS, Pat Entered into eternal rest on the morning of November 26, 2008, Paraskevi Pat Giannaki Gianatos, widow of Nick Gianatos. Residence, Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends may call at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity, Friday between five and seven o'clock where a Trisagion Service will be held at 6 o'clock. Private funeral services will be conducted Saturday at the Church and burial will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Pat (Paraskevi) was born August 15, 1926 in Rizovouni Epirus, Greece, the daughter of George Giannaki and Efstratoula Hitopoulos Giannaki. Pat came to the United States after World War II later bringing her two sisters and mother to live with her. They all sought the American dream and were proud to achieve it. She became a naturalized citizen and enjoyed being a Greek-American. Pat became a widow at an early age and her pride and joy were her two sons and her church. She was a very active member of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity when her health was good. She retired as a sales clerk. She is survived by her devoted and loving sons: George Zafiris and John Gianatos and his wife Mary, all of Charleston, SC; two sisters: Kiki Zecopoulos of James Island, SC and Alexandra Spetseris of Greece along with a special and loved former daughter-in-law Connie Zafiris; two grandchildren: Jonathan Gianatos and Nick Zafiris both of Charleston, SC; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity, 30 Race Street, Charleston, SC 29403. The family would like to thank St. Francis ER, Roper ER and Roper Hospital and especially Hospice Center of Charleston for the exceptional love and care shown to Pat and her family. May God bless you always. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL. Visit our guestbook at www.charleston.net/deaths.

John and Family - I am sorry for your loss. I knew "Mrs. Gio" when she worked on James Island, and I always enjoyed talking with her. Sometime after I got to know her, I made the connection between Mrs. Gio and John. May God comfort you and yours at this time.
