Oshana Worsham Obituary

Oshana Worsham GEORGETOWN, SC - Oshana Bevie Taylor Ward Ard Worsham, 88, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, went home to be with the Lord on Friday evening, March 11, 2011, at her residence. Mrs. Worsham was born the daughter of Herbert Taylor and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Mills Taylor on November 22, 1922, in Andrews, SC. She was a retired seamstress with Oneita Industries and the owner and operator of the Nine Mile Curve Fabric Shop. She was a faithful member of the Six Mile Crossing Church of God. She was part of the original church team from Andrews Church of God which helped plant and organize the Six Mile Crossing church. Her home was used as a gathering place until the Six Mile Crossing church facility was available. There she served faithfully until her homegoing. She was a foster mother for many years in Georgetown. She leaves behind: three children, Audrey (Mitchell) Haselden, David (Geraldine) Ward, and Linda (Samuel "Gene") Blakely; 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, JW (Hazel) Taylor and Lee Taylor; two sisters, Margie McKnight-Hardee and Doris (Bob) Winefelt-Bean. Also surviving is a large extended family including Margie Taylor, Wayne Devine, Catherine (Bo) Bowers; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husbands, McCullough Ward, Richard Ard, and Luther Worsham; a son, Jimmy Dennis Ward; four brothers, Monroe Taylor, Donald Taylor, Landrow Taylor, and Sam Taylor; and one sister Beatrice T. West-Devine. A Home Going Celebration with Recognition of Distinguished Christian Service will be 2 p.m., Monday, March 14, 2011, at the Six Mile Crossing Church of God. Burial will follow in the Gourdines Chapel Cemetery directed by the Georgetown Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home Visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m., Sunday, March 13, 2011, in the sanctuary of the Six Mile Crossing Church of God. To the Ward family: I am so sorry to hear of your mother's death. I remember well growing up in Sampit and going with my mother to your mother's fabric shop. It always meant mama was going to make us something new. You will be in my thoughts and prayers as you go through this most difficult time.
