Oscar Crosby Obituary

CROSBY, Oscar WALTERBORO - Mr. Oscar Arthur Crosby, Jr., 62, of 1284 Peniel Road, died Wednesday at Colleton Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 2 o'clock, Saturday, May 21, 2005, in The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Walterboro Chapel. Interment will follow in Black Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Crosby was born December 24, 1942, and was a son of the late Oscar A. Crosby, Sr., and Lucille Barnett Crosby. He was the owner and operator of O.A. Crosby Hauling Company and served his country in the South Carolina Army National Guard. He was a member of First Christian Church, where he was a church elder and was a member of the Gideon's International. He loved to serve his Lord and church and will always be remembered for the love he had for his family. Surviving are: his wife, Jenell "Nell" Moore Crosby; children, Oscar A. "Artie" Crosby, III, and Sharon C. Broach and her husband Mark, all of Walterboro; three grandchildren, Ronald, Ryan, and Kimberly Broach; and brother, Robert L. Crosby of Walterboro. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynn Crosby. Family and friends may call Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at THE BRICE W. TO NELL AND FAMILY, SO VERY SORRY TO HEAR OF OSCAR'S PASSING. EVEN THOUGH WE KNOW HE HAS GONE TO BE WITH THE LORD, I KNOW THAT HE WILL BE MISSED SO VERY MUCH BY YOU. HE WAS A VERY GOOD PERSON AND I KNOW THAT HE WAS A GOOD HUSBAND AND FATHER. MAY GOD GIVE YOU SOME COMFORT NOW AND EASE YOUR PAIN AT THIS TIME SO THAT YOU CAN GO THROUGH THIS.
