Our deepest sympathy to the Tobias family. We used to be neighbors of Opal and James many years ago on James Island. We live directly behind their house which was on Harvor View Road. Our children played together and Opal and I visited back and forth and went to ceramics classes together and I remember those days fondly. I was sad to hear of Opal's passing. Ramona and Duane Small

I will always remember how Aunt Opal took care of me for well over a year while Dad was trying to sell our house in Florida, just so I could start my new school at the beginning of the year. It couldn't have been easy raising her brother's child while trying to also raise Eve, Ed, and Eric, but, like everything, she did so with grace and aplomb. Fast forward four more years and now she's living in our house while Dad and my stepmom are in Bethesda, MD for a few months due to a rare and very serious stroke my stepmom had. Aunt Opal was a great help to Dad in my upbringing and I'll be forever grateful. In many ways, she played a large part in the woman I came to be. Godspeed, Aunt Opal. Prayers and love for all the family.
