Opal Epps Obituary

EPPS, Opal KINGSTREE - Mrs. Opal Brown Epps, 91, widow of A.L. Epps, Jr., died Monday, December 27, in a Kingstree hospital. Mrs. Epps was born in Kingstree, a daughter of the late Walter B. and Rosa Burrows Brown. She was employed by Preacher's Drug store for 32 years. Mrs. Epps was a lifetime member of Cedar Swamp United Methodist Church, where she was a longtime Sunday School teacher and choir member. She was a talented seamstress and was an extra in the movie "The Notebook" Surviving are two sons, Al (Brenda) Epps of Kingstree, Barney (Lucia) Epps of Atlanta, GA; grandson, Michael A. (Cindy) Epps; granddaughters, Mandi E. (Kelly) Kirby, Shawn E. (Craig) Wudi, Jennifer E. (Pete) Williams; great-grandchildren, Drayton Epps, Crystal Epps, Grady Kirby, Hanna Kirby, Ashlyn Wudi, Braden Wudi; step-grandchildren, Donna M. Mills and Angie M. Owens; step-great-grandchildren, Dustin Kirby and Mason Owens. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Cedar Swamp United Methodist Church, burial will be in the church cemetery, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Cedar Swamp United Methodist Church. Visit our guestbook at www.charleston.net/deaths.
