As a youngster I lived at Ford Court across the alley from Dr. Williamson and his wife. He had just received his medical degree and he graciously took me under his wing. He had a wonderful old Leitz microscope and he patiently showed me the salient features of human anatomy slides (I still have them). He also gave me arrowheads he had found as a youth (I still have them). We stayed in touch and occasionally visited and I last saw him just a few years prior to his passing. A wonderful, charming, wise, and generous man. We need more like him.

Dr. Williamson was the chief of OB GYN at the Medical University of SC when I was a student and when my brother Charles (a year ahead of me) was a student. But none of us realized how many times our paths crossed from cradle to grave. Our grandfather, Ralph Sease, delivered Dr. Williamson in Kingstree. Dr. Wlliamson was friends with my Aunt Margaret Sease Jayroe and my mother Belvin Sease Hill, and he was also friends with their Winthrop roomates, Frances Tausche and Ellen Swails Evans. In addition, he used to sail with my son in law's grandfather Leland Morrison. Dr. Williamson also was a resident and neighbor of our father Carroll Hill at the Sandpiper Courtyard. I fondly remember enjoying the hospitality of the Williamson's at their home in Creekside as a medical student. I also enjoyed many years of attending Journal Club for the OB GYN community in Charleston with Dr. Williamson always leading the way in lively repartee. He was never one to shrink away from a conversation that might improve patient care in the future........

My husband and I have (5) children and Dr. Williamson delivered them all.We expressed to him on a number of occasion that we believed that because of the excellent pre- natal care received they turned out so well. Physically, Mentally and Academically. They all have Masters or PHD in their chosen field.
He was a well- liked doctor. I was blessed to have worked with him as well.I learned a lot from him.
He was knowledgeable, dedicated, responsible and above all caring .
