O'Brien Summers Obituary

SUMMERS, O'Brien DORCHESTER - Master Sergeant O'Brien Summers, 83, of 120 Pearfield Road, died Monday, October 13, 2008 at Trident Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Limstone Baptist Church with the Reverend Steve Mims officiating. Burial with full Military Honors will follow in Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at BRYANT FUNERAL HOME, ST. GEORGE. Master Sgt. Summers was born on January 30, 1925 in Chapin, SC a son of the late Ollie Bryant Summers and Katie Bertell Haltiwanger. He was retired in 1968 from the Air Force after 24 years of service, having served in WWII, Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He was an X-Ray Technician and retired from EXXON Corporation in Summerville. Surviving are two sons, Phillip F. (Elaine) Summers, Summerville and Ashley B. (Myra) Summers; two daughters, Annette C. Summers, Harleyville and Michelle Y. (Ronnie) Parker, Dorchester; six sisters, Sybil Cousins, Betty (Tom) Westwood, Sandra (Ralph) Bryan, all of Newberry, Barbara C.J. (Deno) Siokos, Columbia, Harriet Summers, Chapin and Celia (Larry) Cantrell, Sumter; grandchildren, Neil (Crystal) Summers, Shawn (Michelle) Summers, Ryan (Lacey) Ross, Jordan Ross, Megan Kizer, Cameron Parker, Deidra (William) All; great-grandchildren, Grace Summers, Olivia Ross, Landon Holly, Preston All and Jacob All; and his former wife, Claudette Summers, Harleyville.
